Confirmation

Confirmation is a one year class for eighth or ninth graders to learn about faith as they prepare to join the United Methodist Church as members. We meet on Wednesday nights during the school year.

Youth Group

Youth Group meets Sundays during the school year from 4:30-6:00 p.m. in the youth room. Watch for updates regarding time and location for special events.

Appalachia Service Project

Our high school mission trip goes to Kentucky each summer with Appalachia Service Project. Teams of youth and adult chaperones work to make homes warmer, safer and drier. This trip is open to youth in high school up to age 20 and adult chaperones. Better yet – anyone can come with us even if they don’t attend CUMC, so bring your friends. Sign up for the 2025 trip now!

High School Ministries

Our highschoolers meet for special events throughout the year to explore faith and ourselves.

Connect is a new group that meets Wednesdays from 6:00-7:00pm for our High School youth. Paige Dighton and Bobbie Nichols facilitate conversations each week about identity, belonging and purpose. Each week includes a devotion and reflections on the previous week. The group is exploring being co-creators with God, building a better world and the best versions of themselves.  “Our goal is to provide our older youth an opportunity to gather where questions, thoughts and ideas can be pondered. We aim to create a space with respect, kindness, and curiosity as they continue to navigate their faith and presence in this world.”

Boundary Waters

Middle school and high school are invited to spend 5 days in the Boundary Waters where we connect with nature and each other. We spend one night at a group camp site then break up into small groups to canoe into the boundary waters for 3 nights before coming back together.

We also need adult chaperones, so please join us!

Volunteer Opportunities

Churches run on volunteers and youth are an important part of that. Youth can be tech volunteers, ushers, greeters, Sunday school teachers, and more. Click Here to check out our volunteer page for a list of opportunities.

Our youth programs take the combined efforts of church staff, parents and volunteers. We would love your help. If you’re interested in helping with our youth program, email pastoramanda@cumethodist.com

All of our volunteers working with children, youth, families and other vulnerable individuals must go through Safe Sanctuary training before working with these populations.
