Weddings at CU Methodist

A wedding at Christ UMC is a worship service celebrating when two people make a covenant before God and in the presence of their community. We take that seriously, and we also take seriously our role in helping you prepare well, not just for a meaningful ceremony, but for a lasting marriage.

We welcome all couples. As a Reconciling congregation, Christ UMC is committed to celebrating marriages of every kind.

Who can get married here?

Weddings at Christ UMC are open to both members and non-members. Whether you’re a longtime part of our congregation or new to us entirely, we’d love to talk with you about celebrating your marriage here.

What’s the process?

Start by contacting the church office to schedule an initial meeting with a pastor. During that conversation, we’ll discuss your vision for the ceremony and walk through the next steps, including introducing you to our Wedding Coordinator, who will guide the logistical planning.

As part of wedding preparation, all couples are asked to complete Prepare & Enrich, an online premarital assessment tool that is part of the premarital work you will do with one of the pastors or a counselor. It’s a practical, low-pressure way to explore your relationship and build skills before the wedding day. Registration is $35 online.

Fees

A $250 building use deposit is required to reserve your date. Additional fees apply for the pastor, wedding coordinator, organist, and other services, which are outlined in the Wedding Handbook.
