We’re glad you’re thinking about joining us. Whether you’re new to Rochester, exploring faith for the first time, or looking for a church home, you are welcome here.
When We Gather
We offer two Sunday morning worship services:
- 9:00 a.m. — Traditions Service features our Sanctuary Choir, organ, and liturgy in a traditional worship style.
- 11:00 a.m. — Arise Service features our Arise Band, a come-as-you-are atmosphere, and creative prayers and liturgy.
Both services include a sermon and last approximately one hour.
Can’t make it in person? Both services are livestreamed on Facebook and YouTube, and the 9:00 a.m. service is broadcast on KROC AM 1340 and FM 96.9 at 11:30 a.m. You can also listen by phone at 507-215-8816.
Finding Us & Parking
We’re located at 400 5th Avenue SW in downtown Rochester, two blocks from Soldier’s Field and one block from Mayo Clinic’s Baldwin building.
Parking is available in our west and east lots, with entrances to the building on both sides.
We recommend that first-time visitors use the west parking lot, where designated visitor parking spots are available. The main entrance off the west lot has automatic doors and is fully accessible.
When You Arrive
When you walk through the main entrance, you’ll step into the Commons, a large, open gathering space at the heart of our building. Greeters are at the doors on Sunday mornings, and there’s a welcome desk just inside the entrance where you can get your bearings, ask questions, and learn more about what’s happening at Christ UMC.
No one will put you on the spot or ask you to stand up and introduce yourself. Come as you are, stay as long as you like, and leave knowing you’re welcome back.
Families with Children
Sunday School is available during both the 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. services for children from preschool age through 5th grade. Children typically begin worship with their families and are invited to head to their classes following the children’s message.
A nursery space is also available during worship for our youngest guests, with a livestream of the 9:00 a.m. service provided. Greeters and worship ushers can point you in the right direction.
Getting Connected
When you’re ready to go deeper, we have a lot of ways to get involved, including small groups, service opportunities, and regular gatherings for new people where you can meet clergy, staff, and church leaders.
