Our Mission
The Christ United Methodist Church Foundation was established in the 1990s through the generous gifts of CUMC members and friends as a way to provide long-term support and growth for the ministry and mission of Christ United Methodist Church.The Foundation is maintained as a permanent endowment fund by a Board of Directors. The board considers grant requests twice a year. Ministries are encouraged to apply for financial support during spring and fall grant cycles.
In recent years, the Foundation has supported numerous ministries through its grant process. Some of those ministries include mission teams, youth mission trips, Vacation Bible School, hospitality upgrades, choir tours, music ministry, children and family ministries, and more.
All gifts are welcome at the Christ UMC Foundation. To learn more about supporting funds available at the Christ UMC Foundation, or if you would like to create a new donor-restricted fund, please email foundation@cumethodist.com.
The Foundation also supports scholarships that impact lives beyond our church’s walls.
The CUMC Foundation is currently accepting applications for two scholarships that support college and graduate studies. Applications will be accepted through May 31, 2026.
The Barbara Griffiths-Peterson Scholarship was established to support students entering their second year or beyond of undergraduate studies at a college or university. This scholarship provides $1,000 for CUMC members who meet the eligibility requirements.
The Richard and Helen Reynolds Scholarship was established to support women pursuing graduate education. This scholarship is open to women who live in Olmsted County who have completed a four-year college degree. A scholarship of $3,000 may be awarded.
