ROCHESTER, MN, November 3, 2025: Christ United Methodist Church (CUMC) will celebrate 60 years of handbell music and ministry with a day of music and community fellowship on Sunday, November 9.

The celebration begins during the 9:00 a.m. Traditions Service, featuring performances by CUMC’s Celebration, Progressions, and Jubilee Bell Choirs, joined by more than 20 alumni bell ringers returning for the occasion.
A special anniversary concert follows at 2:00 p.m., showcasing the rich tradition of handbell ringing that has long been part of the church’s worship and outreach. The concert will include the world premiere of a commissioned piece by composer Brian Childers, titled “I’m Gonna Ring When the Spirit Says Ring.”
“This event celebrates not just the music, but the generations of ringers who have shared their time and talents in worship,” said Paul Kingsbury, Handbell Director at CUMC.
The event is free and open to the public. All are welcome to attend and enjoy an afternoon of joyful music and celebration.
