Caring Ministries

Because practicing our humanity heals us.

Being Christian means living in friendship with one another and
being engaged in the ongoing work of Divine Love. In Caring Ministries, we offer one another graced connection through compassionate support, engaged listening, and recognition of the holy in the joys and challenges of everyday living.

Our active ministry provides:

Care Visits

God speaks to us when we encounter those who are hurting.

We are together bonded when we share our experiences with a trusted other, who reflects our goodness and affirms our belonging.

When we reflect together, we discover something deeper and bigger about our human experience.

If you feel distressed, lonely, or overwhelmed and would welcome regular visits in person or by phone, please reach out: peggy@cumethodist.com or call the church office.

Compassionate Support

Faith means to hang in, to hold on to life, which leads to new birthing within.

Our presence together calms feelings of overwhelm and helps us process our experiences and choices.

We learn we are not alone when we face a health crisis or significant loss or transition. When we lean on one another, we connect to wisdom and grace.

If you are in the hospital, facing illness or significant health issues, or are on the hard road to recovery after a loss and would welcome spiritual and emotional support, please reach out to peggy@cumethodist.com or call the church office.

Growth Opportunities

Care groups give insight, comfort, hope, and friendship through peer sharing, group wisdom, and life lessons.

Flourishing: A Wellbeing Group

Our spiritual journey requires time and care. In this small group setting, people share their stories and reflect together in ways that promote wholeness and enrich friendships. Join us the first and third Tuesday of every month from 3 to 4 pm in the Fireside Room. Registration is not required.

Journeys:
A Support Group for Those Facing Life’s
Losses and Challenges

Life can feel lonely and confusing. You are not alone. Journeys is a monthly care group for people to listen and share together how life’s losses and challenges shape and redefine them, leading to a fuller humanity. Join us the second Sunday of every month from 12:15 to 1:15 pm in the Fireside Room. Registration is not required.

Home Ministry

This beautifully felt experience of community is designed for members of our congregation who are hindered from actively participating in the life of the church or who desire a stronger relational connection with the church. If you have an interest in providing caring support for a church member or are a member who desires more from our church community, please contact peggy@cumethodist.com or call the church office.

Compassion Ministry

If you are sick or your health is declining, or you are facing the overwhelm that comes from significant losses and transitions in life, we are here to walk alongside you. This solidarity with one another has sacred significance and heals us through our bonding.

Healing Ministries

Active prayer chain partners pray for healing, strength, and comfort for those facing life’s joys and challenges.

Prayer shawl partners offer tender care and healing through their creation of prayer shawls for people experiencing life’s big moments.

End-of-life and bereavement care addresses spiritual and emotional needs for church community members and their families.

Transportation to 9 a.m. Sunday worship service is provided through the church’s van ministry. Call the church office at 507-289-4019 by noon on Fridays to reserve a ride to Sunday worship.
