Baptism at CU Methodist.
We do baptisms at all of our Sunday services to persons of any age, all year round. We’d be honored to baptize you or your child! We practice the sacrament of baptism the third Sundays of the month, at all services. Contact the office to arrange your special day.
Baptism at Christ UMC
Baptism is one of the two sacraments celebrated in the United Methodist tradition, a holy moment when water and the Spirit meet, and God’s grace becomes visible. We believe baptism is not something we earn, but something we receive: a sign of the covenant God has already extended to us and an entry point into the life of the church.
We are honored to celebrate this sacrament with people of every age, all year round.
Who can be baptized?
Persons of all ages are welcome: infants, children, youth, and adults. If you were already baptized in another Christian tradition, the United Methodist Church recognizes your baptism as complete. We don’t re-baptize. But if you’d like to publicly reaffirm your faith, we’d be glad to make space for that in worship.
Preparing for your baptism
We encourage anyone preparing for baptism, including parents presenting a child for baptism, to connect with one of our pastors beforehand. It’s a simple conversation and a chance to talk through the sacrament’s meaning, answer your questions, and confirm any additional details.
